A former champion has made a successful return to competition, clearly aiming to join the leading MMA organization soon.
Recently, several prominent Bellator fighters have transitioned to the UFC, seeking to compete at the highest level.
Patricio Pitbull is expected to make his UFC debut at UFC 314 next month, following the trend of former Bellator stars entering the Octagon.
Pitbull even appeared at a recent press conference alongside his former rival Michael Chandler, both scheduled for significant fights at the Kaseya Center in Miami.
On the same night Diego Brandao delivered a potential knockout of the year in another promotion, Yaroslav Amosov, another former Bellator talent, advanced his UFC aspirations.
Yaroslav Amosov Aims for UFC After Dominant Win at CFFC 140
Yaroslav Amosov competed at Cage Fury Fighting Championships 140 in Philadelphia, marking his return since November 2023.
The Ukrainian fighter previously held the Bellator welterweight title, winning it against Douglas Lima in June 2021.
His planned title defense against Michael ‘Venom’ Page in May was cancelled because Amosov withdrew to defend his country.
Amosov later returned and decisively defeated interim champion Logan Storley before losing his title to Jason Jackson in his last Bellator fight.
The 31-year-old has expressed his desire to sign with the UFC and needed to regain momentum to achieve this goal.
In Friday night’s main event against Curtis Millender, a UFC veteran with five fights, Amosov quickly secured a first-round submission victory.
Amosov even used a UFC mouthpiece to further emphasize his intention to join the promotion.
Fight fans and Oleksandr Usyk, who fought alongside Amosov for Ukraine, reacted to his comeback victory with congratulations.
“With the victory champ,” Usyk posted on his Instagram story with a photo of Amosov celebrating his win.
One fan commented, “He should be in the UFC today,” while another noted his potential, “31 years old with that record could easily be top 10 in any major promotion.”
Yaroslav Amosov Ready for Immediate UFC Competition
It was crucial for Yaroslav Amosov to return to winning form after a period of inactivity, and now, the UFC should sign him.
Reinier de Ridder followed a similar path after leaving ONE Championship, achieving a quick finish at UAE Warriors before entering the UFC middleweight division.
With victories over fighters like Lima and Storley, Amosov has demonstrated his high caliber, and with years of top-level competition ahead, he is ready for the UFC now.
It seems likely that ‘Dynamo’ will soon realize his ambition of competing in the Octagon.
