According to a rival of Dillon Danis, the highly anticipated fight between Danis and Tony Ferguson is unlikely to occur due to a significant problem.
The two Brazilian jiu-jitsu experts are scheduled to face off in a lightweight Global Fight League (GFL) match on May 24 in Los Angeles, California.
This is an interesting matchup, pitting a fighter once considered among the world`s best against a controversial grappler eager to prove himself.
Many are wondering if Tony Ferguson has declined enough for Danis to win. While there`s considerable intrigue around this fight, not everyone believes it will actually take place.

Gordon Ryan Predicts Dillon Danis vs. Tony Ferguson Fight Cancellation
Dillon Danis has been criticizing KSI after the YouTuber withdrew from their scheduled fight. Adding to Danis`s woes, his upcoming fight with Tony Ferguson is also in question, according to his former jiu-jitsu opponent, Gordon Ryan.
During an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience Fight Companion, Gordon Ryan joined Joe Rogan, Brendan Schaub, and Eddie Bravo, stating his disbelief that Danis could fight Ferguson at lightweight.
He stated, “I saw that poster, it’s gotta be fake, because there’s zero chance, at lightweight, there’s no chance.”
Schaub clarified that lightweight in GFL is 165lbs, slightly above the traditional 155lbs.
However, Ryan remained unconvinced, saying, “There’s no way he makes 165lbs; he could barely make 170lbs when he was in shape for ADCC.”
Schaub countered that there’s weight flexibility, explaining, “They can agree to fight at a weight they’re both comfortable at. If Tony says, ‘I feel good at 168-170lbs,’ and Dillon agrees, ‘Yeah, I’ll fight you at 170lbs,’ then they fight at 170.”
Ryan retorted, “Dillon wasn’t even making 170lbs when he fought in Bellator, he’d fight at a catchweight.”
Joe Rogan Reacts to KSI vs. Dillon Danis Fight Cancellation with Confusion
KSI made the difficult choice to withdraw from his fight with Dillon Danis, citing a serious illness, which Danis dismissed as a `cold`.
This decision surprised Joe Rogan, who expressed his bewilderment on Saturday`s episode of The Fight Companion.
During the broadcast, which coincided with UFC London, Rogan shared his reaction to KSI pulling out of the Danis fight.
