The Champions League anthem is very recognizable in soccer. However, before Aston Villa played Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarterfinal, second leg at Villa Park, something unexpected happened – the wrong music was played.
As the teams stood on the field at Villa Park, the Europa League anthem started playing throughout the stadium. Some players looked confused as the incorrect anthem played, but quickly, the correct Champions League anthem was played just before the important match began.
Here`s a look at what happened:
This is a rare and funny moment that surprised everyone. Similar incidents have happened before, like with Uruguay at the 2016 Copa America.
Regarding the game itself, PSG has not lost many games this season, and they are undefeated in their last seven games since losing to Liverpool. Achraf Hakimi scored early for PSG, just 11 minutes into the game. Villa`s goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez, didn`t handle a cross well, leading to the goal. Nuno Mendes scored another goal for PSG in the first half, putting them in a good position to advance to the semifinals.
