Thor Bjornsson’s Silence on Eddie Hall’s Explosive MMA Debut

MMA news

Thor Bjornsson chose to ignore the impressive MMA debut victory of his long-standing strongman rival, Eddie Hall, on Saturday night. Hall, known as `The Beast`, scored a swift knockout against five-time World’s Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski in a mere 30 seconds at KSW 105.

Their history includes a boxing match in 2022, where Bjornsson secured a decision win despite being knocked down by Hall. Ahead of Hall`s MMA bout, Bjornsson had publicly favored Pudzianowski due to his experience, though he conceded Hall might land a “lucky punch.”

Following Hall`s dominant performance, Bjornsson made no mention of the fight. Instead, he took to social media to praise a different boxing match, Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn, labeling it a “Fight of the Year candidate.”

The prospect of an MMA rematch between the two strongmen has been discussed. Hall recently spoke about the significant financial issues from their boxing match, where they were reportedly never paid their expected seven-figure sums. He cited this lack of payment, partly attributing it to Bjornsson, along with his intense personal dislike for his rival, as reasons why an MMA rematch is unlikely.

Hall expressed his belief that Bjornsson won`t return for a second fight and stated he doesn`t want to conduct business, especially in combat sports, with someone he dislikes so strongly, particularly given the past financial problems.
