MIAMI — Emma Raducanu, remembered for her incredible 2021 US Open victory as a qualifier, is making waves again. At 22 years old, and after overcoming injuries, she`s aiming to create new milestones, starting at the 2025 Miami Open.
The British tennis hope continued her impressive Miami Open journey by defeating No. 17 seed Amanda Anisimova with a score of 6-1, 6-3. This victory propels her into her first-ever WTA 1000 quarterfinal, where she is set to compete against the winner of the match between No. 4 Jessica Pegula and No. 23 Marta Kostyuk.
Raducanu has demonstrated dominant form in her recent matches, winning a remarkable 24 out of 29 games, including a match where McCartney Kessler retired in the second set.

Anisimova is also experiencing a comeback. The 23-year-old American concluded 2024 ranked No. 36 but significantly boosted her trajectory with a title win at the Doha WTA 1000 event. She had achieved an 11-4 record this year and reached a career-high ranking of No. 17.
With impressive wins against Anisimova and No. 8 seed Emma Navarro, Raducanu has now defeated two Top 20 players in the same tournament for the second time in her career. The first time was at the US Open when she defeated Belinda Bencic and Maria Sakkari on her path to the title.
