Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, a figure known for his intense presence and knockout power in the fighting world, recently shared the unexpected origin of his fighting journey.
Throughout his distinguished career, the American fighter established himself as one of the most formidable individuals in mixed martial arts, leaving a trail of opponents unconscious with his heavy hands.
While his reputation was built inside the cage, Jackson is also no stranger to real-life altercations, having been involved in notable clashes outside of competition, including heated moments with Jason Miller during training sessions.
However, his very first fight predates his professional career significantly, occurring during his childhood when a classmate attempted to take a beloved toy.
Rampage Jackson`s Childhood Brawl Over a Toy Car
Recounting the incident, Jackson explained that as a young boy, he lent one of his Hot Wheels cars to a classmate. Trouble arose when the friend failed to return it, instead claiming it was lost.
Speaking on the HJR Podcast in a clip shared in February, Jackson described his initial reaction and the swift change of heart that led to the confrontation.
“I just remembered my first fight. I was in Kindergarten, and I let this kid borrow one of my Hot Wheels.
“He didn’t give it back. I asked him for my Hot Wheels, he said, ‘I lost it’, and I just said, ‘Oh, okay’.
“I walked home, I remember, I got not even halfway, and then I turned back and said, ‘He was playing with that thing right before I asked him for it’.
“So, I turned back around, and I went back there, and I saw the Hot Wheel, I snatched it out of his hands and I beat the s— out of that boy.”
A Near-Fight with a Rugby Player While UFC Champion
Decades later, long after the kindergarten toy incident, Jackson had achieved stardom and held the UFC Light Heavyweight championship.
Despite his fame, he found himself in a peculiar situation during a trip to England, where he was almost involved in another physical confrontation.
On a memorable night, the MMA champion nearly came to blows with a rugby player, highlighting that even at the height of his fame, recognition wasn`t always universal.
