Boston Legacy FC has officially unveiled its crest, a key step in the team`s rebrand. Legacy FC is set to join the NWSL as the league`s 15th team. They will compete alongside fellow expansion club, Denver NWSL, during the 2026 regular season.
Boston had previously shown initial branding in October 2024, which received significant negative feedback and criticism. Following this, the club relaunched under the name Boston Legacy FC. On Saturday, the team officially revealed its new crest, colors, and branding.
This crest is another step in building a new sporting legacy in Boston.
Swans encompass our core club values of integrity, grit, and style. They are famously loyal, relentless in defending their territory, and iconic residents of our waterways and green spaces. We are excited to see our fans and players wearing this incredible crest when we kick off in 2026 at Gillette Stadium, and continue to build towards the future with our home field of White Stadium in partnership with the City of Boston.

Graphic designer Matthew Wolff created the club crest over five months, incorporating the colors green, black, and white. The new badge prominently features a swan. Its eight feathers are intended to represent the original eight NWSL teams, including the former Boston Breakers, which dissolved due to financial mismanagement before the 2018 season. The angles of the swan`s wings are designed to mirror Boston`s Zakim Bridge.
The club is currently working on renovations at White Stadium. However, due to construction delays, the team will play its inaugural season at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. Boston Legacy will be the first women`s professional soccer team to hold its regular season games at the NFL facility. The team is expected to move to White Stadium starting in 2027.
