UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov is reportedly embarking on a major expansion of his training centers. This strategic move aims to disseminate his father`s renowned, rigorous coaching philosophy and perpetuate his valuable legacy.
Khabib`s late father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, was a highly respected coach in Dagestan, pivotal in shaping the careers of numerous world champions, including Islam Makhachev and Usman Nurmagomedov. Now, Khabib intends to bring this distinct training methodology and lifestyle approach to a wider array of locations, a plan confirmed by his teammate.
Supporting him in this endeavor is Movlid Khaybulaev, an undefeated featherweight contender in the PFL`s current tournament season. Khaybulaev is scheduled to compete in an upcoming main card bout against Taekyun Kim.
Since retiring from mixed martial arts competition in 2020 following the passing of his father, Khabib Nurmagomedov has successfully transitioned into a prominent coaching role. He has cornered fighters in many high-profile title fights across the UFC, PFL, and Bellator promotions, achieving a remarkable win rate.
Now, his focus is directed towards further developing his father`s established system by introducing their specific gym environment and unique training regimen to new sites.
Teammate Movlid Khaybulaev Discusses Expansion Goals
“It`s all about expansion and preserving our legacy, and we`re all about branching out right now,” Khaybulaev stated. “We have a bunch of new guys coming out. I’ll work with somebody then of course Khabib is working with a lot of guys. He oversees everybody and if we keep going with the same energy and the same dedication then it’s just going to keep spreading out even further.”
Khaybulaev added, “Khabib is making sure we get new talent and we’re going to be opening up new gym branches. So the idea is to leave an even bigger legacy and keep the chain going.” This highlights the commitment to identifying and nurturing upcoming talent while broadening the physical presence of their training centers.
Recalling Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov`s Qualities as a Mentor
The legendary coaching of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov is frequently cited by the many world-class MMA athletes who have emerged from Dagestan. Khaybulaev shared his memories, emphasizing that his greatness stemmed not just from tactical knowledge but from his dedication to their personal development outside of training.
