Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall Unification Fight: Dana White Provides Update

Sports News

UFC President Dana White insists that there are no significant obstacles preventing the highly anticipated UFC fight between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall in 2025.

Heavyweight champion Jon Jones, considered by many to be the greatest MMA fighter of all time, has been in discussions to face interim titleholder Tom Aspinall since defeating Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 in November.

Despite several months passing without an official announcement, and Aspinall expressing his impatience, Dana White has reassured fans that the fight is progressing smoothly and the official confirmation is expected soon.

“I’ll tell you what I’ve been saying from the start,” White stated regarding the Jones vs. Aspinall matchup. “The fight is going to happen. It’s now just a matter of finalizing the details, getting it signed, and setting the date.”

“It’s done, but it’s not quite finalized to the point where I can announce it with a date right now – but the fight is definitely happening.”

White clarified that there are no logistical issues, and the delay is simply due to the contract signing process.

Jon Jones Announces Career Venture

While discussions around the heavyweight unification fight continue, Jon Jones has made a significant announcement about his career.

The 37-year-old has revealed a major career move, partnering with Mike Perry by becoming a co-owner of Perry’s combat sports promotion, Dirty Boxing Championship.

Jones attended the promotion’s inaugural event last November and expressed his excitement about joining the venture, believing it has the potential to become a major force in combat sports.
