Tennis star Coco Gauff, ranked World No. 4, is bringing high fashion to the court this spring and summer. Thanks to her partnership with apparel sponsor New Balance and luxury brand Miu Miu, she`ll showcase exclusive on- and off-court styles.
On Wednesday, the 2023 US Open winner unveiled a new capsule collection created in collaboration with both New Balance and Miu Miu. This partnership extends New Balance`s existing relationship with the high-fashion Italian label, established by Miuccia Prada in 1993. Gauff has previously worn Miu Miu off-court, notably including two custom dresses for her Oscars appearance last month and a stunning gold gown featured in her April 2024 Vogue cover shoot. However, this new collection blends sport and street style and is designed for Gauff to wear at specific Hologic WTA Tour tournaments.
She plans to debut three distinct, high-fashion outfits at three different tournaments: the upcoming Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome, followed by events in Berlin in June and Cincinnati in August. Each look will include match kits with color schemes inspired by or reflective of the specific tournament location.
On the clay courts of Rome, Gauff will sport a “classically elegant” navy and white ensemble accented with red. For the grass courts of Berlin, she will switch to green and white featuring sky-blue details. Returning to the US for the Cincinnati tournament (which she won previously), her outfit will combine fitting royal blue with additional red accents.
Each outfit will be completed with matching silk zip-front hoodies and track pants. Gauff will also wear a custom, co-branded version of her signature shoe, the Coco CG2, specially redesigned by New Balance and Miu Miu.
Gauff, who has partnered with New Balance since 2018, shared exclusively with Vogue for the launch, “I showed them what silhouettes I like, and we worked around that as a starting point. We were like, `What can we do in tennis that has either never been done or been done very few times?`”
The full New Balance x Miu Miu collection featuring Coco Gauff will be available for a limited time, going on sale to the public shortly after the US Open concludes, specifically on September 10th.
