EA Sports has unveiled the official driver ratings for the upcoming F1 25 video game. While many of these ratings are likely to spark lively discussions among fans, one aspect appears to be beyond debate: four-time world champion Max Verstappen starts the game at the top of the rankings with a 95 overall rating (OVR).
Each driver`s overall rating is derived from four underlying statistics: Experience, Racecraft, Awareness, and Pace. Verstappen, the Red Bull driver, boasts scores of 87 for Experience, 96 for Racecraft, 85 for Awareness, and 96 for Pace. The inclusion of Experience as a key statistic is particularly notable, as it helps explain why promising young drivers might initially receive lower ratings from the game`s developers.
Emerging talents such as Kimi Antonelli, Oliver Bearman, Isack Hadjar, and Gabriel Bortoleto have demonstrated impressive form in their rookie season. However, their lower Experience scores contribute to limiting their overall ratings. Similarly, Oscar Piastri`s OVR is affected by this rating structure. Despite his strong performance and current standing at the top of the world championship, the Australian driver has an overall rating of 87, placing him behind more veteran drivers like Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton.
