Everton Bans Fan for Life After Food Theft at Stadium Test Event

Football news

An Everton fan has been handed a lifetime ban from the Premier League club after filming himself stealing food at Everton Stadium during a trial event.

In the video, the man is seen ordering food at the new Bramley-Moore Dock in Vauxhall, Liverpool. When a staff member turned to prepare a coffee to complete the order, the fan is heard saying `adios amigo` before taking food he had already received and walking away without paying for the coffee.

The fan jokingly referred to his actions as `doing a Toby [slang for theft] at Bramley-Moore Dock`.

Everton confirmed that the 62-year-old individual has been given an indefinite ban and his club membership has been revoked. The incident happened on February 17th during Everton`s first test event, where 10,000 fans were invited to watch an Under-18s friendly match against Wigan.

Several test events have been conducted at the new stadium, which is scheduled to become Everton`s home ground starting in the 2025-26 season. Everton has played at Goodison Park for the past 133 years, but the new stadium will have a capacity of 52,888.

Merseyside Police acknowledged awareness of the incident but stated it was being managed by the Premier League club.

The fan was requested to donate the value of the stolen food to the Everton in the Community charity.
