A former UFC competitor has expressed interest in fighting Eddie Hall following the World`s Strongest Man`s successful entry into mixed martial arts.
Eddie Hall had a highly successful professional MMA debut last month at KSW 105, defeating Mariusz Pudzianowski in just 30 seconds. The 2017 World`s Strongest Man champion is reportedly already in talks for his next MMA fight with an unnamed promotion.
Following his impressive performance at KSW 105, Hall is now being considered by various potential opponents. Notably, one such fighter secured a spectacular knockout victory at Karate Combat 54 just last weekend against Tyrone Spong.
This former UFC veteran, who has achieved considerable success since leaving the organization, has publicly challenged Hall for his upcoming Karate Combat bout.
Sam Alvey Challenges Eddie Hall
During a recent interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, Sam Alvey, a double champion in Karate Combat, issued a direct challenge to Hall for a future fight.
Alvey stated, “I`m going to beat you up, respectfully, so sign the contract and let`s do it!” He added that Karate Combat is receptive to the idea and is expected to pursue the matchup. Alvey continued, “We are reaching out to him, doing everything possible. Eddie Hall, stop avoiding me! Stop running, son!”
Alvey holds an undefeated record in Karate Combat following his knockout victory over Spong. He initially won the heavyweight championship by unanimous decision against Ross Levine at KC 43 and later finished Antonio Arroyo in their second fight at KC 48.
As of now, Hall has not publicly responded to Alvey`s challenge. He is currently in discussions for another MMA appearance against an opponent who has not yet been named.
Although Hall`s recent challenge to Francis Ngannou is unlikely to materialize, a fight against Alvey appears to be a logical and mutually beneficial opportunity. With Karate Combat gaining traction, a bout between Alvey and Hall could serve as a highly anticipated addition to their schedule.
Mariusz Pudzianowski Addresses `Tap Out` Accusations
Following his loss to Hall, Pudzianowski faced accusations of submitting (“tapping out”) during the brief 30-second contest. He quickly responded to his critics after KSW 105 and hinted at the possibility of a future rematch with Hall.
Reportedly, Pudzianowski received a substantial payment for his short time in the cage with Hall. The former strongman is currently on a three-fight losing streak in KSW, following a previous five-fight winning streak.
A potential clash between Alvey and Hall seems possible after KC 54, and Hall may soon acknowledge Alvey`s challenge. Alvey`s recent performance highlights that former UFC fighters can achieve significant success in other combat sports promotions.
