Dillon Danis is unaware of any potential MMA fight with Mike Perry, despite Perry`s claims.
Dillon Danis, known for his grappling skills, was originally set to box KSI in Manchester, England. This was meant to be his second boxing match, but KSI had to postpone due to illness. Danis had previously pulled out of a fight in 2023, so this time the postponement was on KSI.
This situation has brought former UFC fighter Mike Perry into the picture.
Mike Perry has been interested in fighting Dillon Danis for some time. They even had a face-off before Danis`s boxing match with Jake Paul last summer, where Danis lost by TKO in the sixth round.
Danis is currently scheduled to fight former UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson in an MMA bout on May 25th. However, according to Perry, Misfits Boxing considered finding Danis a replacement opponent for the cancelled KSI fight.
Mike Perry Announced MMA Fight Offer to Dillon Danis
Perry stated on The Ariel Helwani Show on Monday that he received a last-minute offer to fight Danis in an MMA match under the Misfits Boxing banner.
“KSI is out,” Perry stated.
“Dillon Danis wants an MMA fight. I agreed, but we need to wait and see… If they want to make it happen, let’s do it.”
Perry mentioned that the fight could potentially happen as early as April, before Danis`s scheduled fight with Ferguson.
“I will defend against his takedowns. He will have to pull guard, and I will use ground and pound,” Perry added, confident in his MMA abilities against Danis.
Dillon Danis`s Response
Dillon Danis, who is currently training for his MMA fight against Tony Ferguson, responded to Perry`s claims about a possible fight between them.
“Is it strange that I have not heard anything about this?” Danis questioned Perry`s offer on social media platform X.
Danis, who became a free agent after leaving Bellator MMA in October 2023, has received numerous fight offers over the years and recently signed with GFL in January.
Danis insists he is unaware of any Misfits MMA fight offer from Mike Perry.
Perry, 33, is a UFC veteran with 15 fights and has notable BKFC victories. Perry has not competed in MMA since 2021.
