Both fights are now off the table due to circumstances beyond his control, despite Misfits` apparent efforts to find him a last-minute replacement opponent.
Danis expressed his disappointment on social media, stating his hard work to change his image and frustration at the lost opportunities.
“To be honest, I’m extremely frustrated. I wanted to compete as much as possible in 2025, for myself and my supporters. First, KSI cancelled, then said he wasn`t able to reschedule. We couldn`t find a replacement opponent. I agreed to fight anyone. And now the Tony Ferguson fight is also postponed, and I`m facing criticism.
“I’m aware of the narrative about me avoiding fights. I don’t want that to be my story, and I’ve been doing everything I can to change it. I just want to prove my words and show I`m the best. Sorry to everyone.”
In response to Danis’s post, Mams Taylor, promoter for Misfits Boxing, offered encouragement, suggesting a fight is on the horizon.
“You’ve definitely had some bad luck. You will be fighting soon, Danis.”
Who Might Be Dillon Danis`s Next Opponent?
With the uncertainty surrounding the Global Fight League`s future, it`s questionable if any promotion can afford to pay both Dillon Danis and a worthy opponent enough to arrange a fight, unless PFL steps in.
Misfits has already offered a chance, and while boxing might not be ideal for his grappling skills, it could be his best route to stay active.
Big names like Darren Till and Mike Perry have been mentioned as potential opponents for Danis recently. With KSI and the Paul brothers unavailable, they might be his best options, even if they present tough challenges.
Despite his past actions not earning him much fan sympathy, Danis`s career has undoubtedly been affected by recent unfortunate events.
