Cristiano Ronaldo signs new two-year deal until 2027 with Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr

Football news

Al-Nassr has officially announced that football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has extended his contract with the Saudi Arabian club. The new agreement will keep him with the team until 2027, replacing his previous deal which was set to expire in the summer of 2025. Despite various reports and confirmed interest from several clubs around the globe, the Portuguese international ultimately committed to a further two years with the club he originally joined in December 2022.

Ahead of leading Portugal to victory in the UEFA Nations League final earlier this summer, the former Manchester United forward had indicated that there were clubs interested in acquiring his services before the FIFA Club World Cup. This was also hinted at by FIFA President Gianni Infantino. However, Ronaldo`s final decision was to remain in the Saudi league.

Sharing his thoughts on the extension, Cristiano Ronaldo posted on his social media platforms:

A new chapter begins. Same passion, same dream. Let`s make history together.

By signing this extension, Cristiano Ronaldo has chosen to continue his illustrious playing career at Al-Nassr, a move that many speculate could mean the club will be his last before he decides to retire from professional football.

Reflecting on his future during a media interaction last month, he stated:

I know the end of my career is near, but I will continue playing until I`ll be happy to do it.

Ronaldo, who reached the age of 40 in February, boasts an incredible record of 956 career goals across all competitions. He is widely celebrated and considered by many as one of the greatest players ever to grace the sport.
