Could 100 Daniel Cormiers Beat One Gorilla? MMA Legends Debate

MMA news

A hypothetical fight pitting a hundred clones of Daniel Cormier against a single gorilla has sparked debate between the former two-division UFC champion and another prominent figure in mixed martial arts.

This bizarre hypothetical scenario – how many humans it would take to defeat a gorilla – has recently captivated online discussions, with many offering their takes.

While many doubt average individuals could stand a chance, `DC` is far from average. Given his incredible fighting prowess and heart, it`s reasonable to assume 100 copies of him would fare much better than a group of untrained people.

Ben Askren Believes 100 Daniel Cormiers Could Defeat a Gorilla

As this peculiar debate gained traction globally, Ben Askren was eager to discuss it with Daniel Cormier. However, their views on the outcome of a hundred men facing a single gorilla diverged significantly.

During an episode of Funky and the Champ, Askren exclaimed: “I’m so excited. There’s this thing online, 100 men vs a gorilla.”

Finding the whole thing ridiculous, Cormier told his friend to: “Stop.”

Askren argued, “Everyone is overlooking the cardio aspect here. Even trained, dangerous humans get tired. I did the math: If a gorilla takes 15 seconds to kill one human, a hundred humans give it 1500 seconds, which is 25 minutes. Can a gorilla truly fight intensely for 25 minutes? No, it cannot.”

Cormier took the opposing stance, asserting: “Every time they rush him, he`s just like, bang, bang, bang. A hundred men stand no chance. It won`t take 25 minutes. For starters, he`s biting, scratching, and utterly dominating them.”

Getting tactical, the former Bellator champion proposed: “What if you just rush him, feint, then retreat, and then someone else attacks, keeping him constantly moving? Everyone just evades him while provoking him?”

Cormier countered: “I watched Khabib Nurmagomedov wrestle a bear, and the bear was getting the better of him.”

Askren insisted: “I saw Khabib pin that bear,” to which Cormier shot back: “Yes, but it was a difficult struggle.”

At this point, Askren switched the scenario, asking the former UFC heavyweight champion: “How about 100 Daniel Cormiers versus a gorilla?”

Displaying surprising humility, the legend conceded: “I`d get my ass kicked repeatedly.”

Showing faith in his friend, Askren enthused: “Come on, man, I believe in you.”

Reaching the end of his patience, Cormier exclaimed: “You guys have no idea, it`s the most absurd concept ever. I can`t believe we`re discussing this on our show. I`m finished with this topic.”

Refusing to back down, `Funky` declared confidently: “One hundred Daniel Cormiers are absolutely beating a gorilla; I`d bet my house on it.”

Cormier, officially done, retorted: “Shut up, Ben.”

While the strong former champion isn`t confident about his own chances against a gorilla, one might speculate he`d stand a better chance if he were as provoked as when Khabib Nurmagomedov once pranked him.

How Many Eddie Halls to Stop a Gorilla?

Unlike Cormier`s skepticism regarding his own hypothetical performance against a gorilla, strongman Eddie Hall exhibits significant self-confidence.

While not possessing the inherent lethality of a wild animal, the 2017 World`s Strongest Man is unquestionably one of the globe`s most physically powerful humans.

Fresh off a first-round victory over Mariusz Pudzianowski at KSW 105, he currently enjoys considerable momentum.

The strongman icon has recently shared his own estimate on the number of Eddie Halls required to defeat a gorilla.
