Conor McGregor’s eldest son is showing signs of following in his famous father`s footsteps, though in a different sport.
The former two-division UFC champion has spent considerable time with his family during his approximately four-year absence from fighting, which began after he broke his leg against Dustin Poirier in July 2021.
Recently, Conor McGregor attended his 8-year-old son, Conor Jr.`s, soccer match.
The `Notorious` fighter posted a video clip highlighting Conor Jr.`s performance, accompanying it with a proud message about his son`s achievements.

Conor McGregor Jr. Displays Athletic Talent
On the soccer field, the young athlete demonstrated a different kind of striking ability compared to his father`s famed octagon skills.
Conor Jr. scored every goal for his team in an impressive 7-1 victory, a performance that clearly excited ‘Mystic Mac’.
The father of four also shared footage of a near-miss shot he believed should have been his son`s eighth goal of the game.
McGregor used the post`s caption to humorously suggest he was rejecting any potential offers for Conor Jr.`s soccer career.
The UFC icon congratulated Conor Jr. and his team on the win, noting the impressive scoreline: “7-1 and Conor scored all 7!”. He added that another near-miss off the crossbar should have counted as the eighth goal.
Joking about his son`s talent and future, McGregor stated, “But sure look. Onward! We are not fielding offers, we remain loyal to club and to country.”
What Awaits Conor McGregor`s Octagon Return?
During his time away from active competition, McGregor has frequently discussed a possible return to mixed martial arts.
However, talk of his comeback has been less frequent in 2025, leading some fans to question if he will ever fight in the UFC again.
McGregor recently eased these concerns by mentioning his interest in potentially facing the winner of the Michael Chandler vs. Paddy Pimblett bout from UFC 314 last month in Miami.
Following that event, McGregor seemed to disregard Pimblett’s TKO victory, instead emphasizing “unfinished business” with Chandler.
UFC CEO Dana White has not commented on McGregor`s return recently, but he is expected to face questions about it around the time of UFC 315 this weekend.
