Ranked World No. 4, Coco Gauff is set to make a splash with her fashion choices on and off the court this spring and summer. This is thanks to a new collaboration between her apparel sponsor, New Balance, and the high-fashion label Miu Miu.
The 2023 US Open champion recently unveiled an exclusive capsule collection resulting from the partnership. This collaboration is part of New Balance`s ongoing work with the Italian luxury brand, which was founded by Miuccia Prada in 1993. Gauff has previously worn Miu Miu designs away from the tennis court, including custom gowns at the Oscars last month and a striking gold dress for her April 2024 Vogue cover shoot. However, this new collection focuses on blending sport and street style, offering head-to-toe looks for Gauff to wear at selected Hologic WTA Tour events.
Gauff will showcase three distinct, high-fashion outfits at three different tournaments: the upcoming Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome, followed by appearances in Berlin in June and Cincinnati in August. The colors of each match kit will be inspired by or based on the location of the event.
In Rome, competing on the clay courts, Gauff will wear a “classically elegant” navy and white combination accented with red. For the grass courts in Berlin, she will change to green and white with subtle sky-blue hints. When she returns to the US for the Cincinnati tournament, which she won two years ago, her look will feature a mix of royal blue and red accents.
Each look will include matching silk zip-front hoodies and track pants. Gauff will also wear a custom, co-branded version of her signature tennis shoe, the Coco CG2, which has been redesigned through the collaboration between New Balance and Miu Miu.
“I showed them what silhouettes I like, and we worked around that as a starting point,” stated Gauff, who has been partnered with New Balance since 2018. She added, “We were like, `What can we do in tennis that has either never been done or been done very few times?`”
The complete New Balance x Miu Miu with Coco Gauff collection will be available for public purchase for a limited time, starting September 10, shortly after the conclusion of the US Open.
