An incident occurred outside the RCDE Stadium in Barcelona on Thursday when a car drove into a gathering of people. This happened during the initial stages of the football match between Barcelona and Espanyol.
Authorities have classified the event as an accident, stating it was not an intentional act. The collision resulted in minor injuries for at least eight individuals.
Inside the stadium, supporters who learned of the incident attempted to alert officials. Some fans called out to Espanyol`s goalkeeper, Joan Garcia, to draw the referee`s attention, and a few even moved towards the pitch area. This led to a brief pause in the game, although those fans were later escorted out by security.
Local police and stadium authorities issued statements to assure those inside the venue that there was no danger.
Despite the disruption, the match continued, with Barcelona eventually winning 2-0. Lamine Yamal scored the winning goal, a result that confirmed Barcelona as the champions of La Liga.
