Canada Coach Jesse Marsch Suspended for Two Games

Jesse Marsch, the head coach of Canada`s national team, will be suspended for two games by Concacaf. This decision follows his actions at the Concacaf Nations League finals in March. During the third-place game against the US men`s national team, Marsch was given a red card.

The red card was issued in the second half of Canada`s 2-1 victory over the USMNT. Marsch reacted strongly to a referee`s call and entered the field. As a result, he was ejected from the game and will now be absent for Canada`s first two matches at the Concacaf Gold Cup this summer.

Concacaf`s Disciplinary Committee stated that the suspension includes one game for his inappropriate behavior towards officials and delaying the game by refusing to leave the field, plus the automatic one-match suspension for the red card. They also warned both the Canadian Soccer Association and Marsch about potential harsher penalties for any future incidents.

Marsch will be absent for Canada`s first two Concacaf Gold Cup games, starting with the match against Honduras on June 17 at BC Place in Vancouver, and the game against Curacao on June 21 at Shell Energy Stadium in Houston.
