Juan Archuleta has just secured his eighth professional title in the most emphatic fashion possible.
A former two-promotion bantamweight world champion, Archuleta is also a training partner of ex-UFC champion TJ Dillashaw. He captured the Bellator title by defeating Patchy Mix in 2020 and claimed the RIZIN title from Hiromasa Ougikubo in 2023.
`The Spaniard` is widely considered one of the top fighters to never have competed in the UFC. He holds an impressive 9-3 record in Bellator, with significant victories over opponents such as Enrique Barzola, Henry Corrales, and Naoki Inoue.
This past weekend marked Archuleta`s return to the win column following a three-fight losing streak against some of the world`s best fighters, including former UFC title challenger Kai Asakura. He made his comeback fight on the regional circuit unforgettable with a devastating knockout.
Former Champion Juan Archuleta Lands Spectacular Flying Knee KO
On Saturday, Archuleta moved up from his usual weight class to challenge Dennis Linton (10-3-1) for the Borroka featherweight title.
Archuleta wasted no time finishing his opponent. In the second round of the scheduled five-round bout, Archuleta landed a clean flying knee as Linton was moving forward.
The powerful strike sent Linton crashing down to the canvas.
There was no need for follow-up punches, as Archuleta simply walked away from his opponent, who was visibly unconscious.
Juan Archuleta has made a strong return to the win column with a vintage performance, adding yet another title to his resume.
Juan Archuleta Discusses His Next Career Move
The 37-year-old Archuleta has a wealth of experience, having fought globally for numerous promotions.
Following the PFL`s acquisition of Bellator, several notable Bellator stars, including Patricio Pitbull, Aaron Pico, Michael ‘Venom’ Page, and Archuleta`s former foe Patchy Mix, have signed with the UFC.
However, after his Borroka title win, Archuleta is not calling for a shot in the UFC but instead expressed his desire for a return to RIZIN.
“Fans in Japan would you want to see me back in top form?” Archuleta posted on X (formerly Twitter).
“Tell @RIZINTV_ it’s time for me to come back if not I will stay in America.”
He added, “I hope to see you in July.”
