Many options are available for former UFC fighters after they leave the organization.
The Global Fight League (GFL) recently drafted numerous fighters, including former UFC stars Tony Ferguson and Paige VanZant.
Mike Perry, a BKFC star, has also created a new avenue with his Dirty Boxing Championship, which recently held its first event.
Yoel Romero, another GFL draftee, achieved a knockout at this debut event.
Now, Andrei Arlovski, a former UFC fighter also drafted by GFL, will compete at Dirty Boxing Championship`s inaugural full event on March 22 in Miami.
Andrei Arlovski Scheduled for Dirty Boxing Championship Debut in Miami
Andrei Arlovski, former UFC heavyweight champion, was picked by Team Los Angeles in the GFL draft in January.
Despite being drafted by GFL, Arlovski`s next fight will be in a different combat sport, similar to Dillon Danis.
Arlovski, 46, is second in UFC history for both most wins and losses, having fought 42 times in the Octagon.
Once a UFC champion (2005-2006), Arlovski was not re-signed after a loss to Martin Buday at UFC 303 last year.
Following four consecutive decision wins, his UFC tenure concluded with four losses, though he remained competitive into his 40s.
Arlovski will debut at DBX 1 on March 22 against Terrance Hodges, who has a 2-7 MMA record and experience in kickboxing and Muay Thai.
Yoel Romero is expected to headline the event, facing Ras Hylton, after being previously announced to fight Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua in his GFL debut.
Andrei Arlovski`s Potential in MMA Remains Strong
The GFL has faced criticism for signing fighters past their prime, a notion seemingly supported by Andrei Arlovski’s recent record.
However, his four UFC losses came after a long period where he was only defeated by top-level opponents.
Frank Mir, Arlovski’s teammate in Team Los Angeles, recently had emergency surgery before his planned MMA return after last competing in 2019.
Arlovski, in contrast, is a veteran who was recently competing at a high level, suggesting he has a good chance of success in his new ventures.
